A theme preset is a small JSON file with a society's chosen palette, fonts, spacing, and layout. Import one on your SocietyPress site and it instantly takes on that look — your content, members, and configuration are not touched.
Each preset is curated and reviewed. Click Download, then in your SocietyPress admin go to SocietyPress → Theme Presets → Import and upload the file.

On your SocietyPress site, go to SocietyPress → Theme Presets → Import. Upload the JSON file. The site immediately takes on the new look.
Your content, members, logo, and configuration are unchanged — only the design tokens. Tweak any setting under SocietyPress → Settings → Design from there.
What's not in a preset: No logo. No member data. No content. No org info. No payment credentials. No PHP code or files. A preset is just colors, fonts, and spacing — open it in any text editor before importing if you want to see exactly what you're getting.
Everything above is a preset — colors, fonts and spacing. It cannot run code, so it needs no review, and one click puts your site back.
A child theme is different. It is a real WordPress theme, and its code runs on your server every time a page loads. A good one gives a society something genuinely its own. A bad one can read the member list. So every child theme offered here is read, start to finish, before it carries a Reviewed by SocietyPress badge.
That badge is a statement about safety and nothing else. It does not mean the theme is well built, that it will suit your society, or that anybody is obliged to maintain it.
Anybody may submit one — you do not have to be a society or be known to us. You do have to be named, because somebody has to be answerable for code that runs where your members' records live.
None yet. No child theme has been submitted for review so far, so everything in the Exchange today is a saved look or a bundle — which is most of what a society wants anyway. If you build WordPress themes, yours could be the first.
